Development Overview

Introduction

CaroGen Corporation is developing a first-in-class nanoparticle vaccine for the prevention of Zika virus infection, using the virus-like vesicle (VLV) platform technology developed at Yale University School of Medicine. The VLV technology is a hybrid combination of components from the alphavirus Semliki Forest virus (SFV) and rhabdovirus vesicular stomatitis virus (VSV). Preclinical development is underway in the US.

As at September 2020, no recent reports of development had been identified for preclinical development in Zika-virus-infection (Prevention) in USA.

Key Development Milestones

CaroGen is collaborating with the Center for Excellence for Vaccine Research (CEVR) at the University of Connecticut in the development of its Zika virus infection vaccine.
